Landowner relations

We're on the lease
for the long run.

Clear communication, honest production reporting, and a field team that answers the phone. That is the whole strategy.

You should not have to call twice.

A lease is a long relationship. We treat it that way: call before we move equipment, explain what the month's production actually means, and leave the gate the way we found it.

Our land team handles division orders, ownership changes, surface agreements, and royalty questions from the Houston office. Field questions go to the supervisor who covers your county.

Commitments Four things we do / Every lease

The basics,
done consistently.

None of this is unusual. It is just rare enough that landowners notice when it happens every month.

01 / Communication

Call before we move.

Heavy equipment, road work, and pipeline activity are scheduled with the surface owner, not announced after the fact.

02 / Reporting

Send a real statement.

Monthly production reports that show volumes, prices, and deductions — not a check stub you have to decode.

03 / Surface

Protect the ground.

Caliche roads, culverts, and gate policy are maintained to the lease agreement, with a supervisor who inspects them.

04 / Response

Answer the phone.

A field supervisor answers the 24/7 line. If we cannot solve it that night, we tell you when we will.

Royalty FAQ Straight answers

Questions we
hear often.

If your question is not here, call the land team. We will give you an answer, not a ticket number.

When are royalty statements issued?

Statements are issued monthly, after sales are settled for the production month. If a statement has not arrived by the 25th of the following month, call the land team and we will trace it.

How is my royalty interest calculated?

Your decimal is set by the division order and reflects your ownership in the minerals, the lease royalty rate, and any pooled acreage. The land team can walk you through the math on your specific lease.

Why did my check change from last month?

Volumes, commodity prices, and deductions all move month to month. The statement shows each line. If a change looks wrong, ask for the production detail behind it.

How do I update my address or ownership?

Send the change to the land team with your lease name and county. For ownership transfers, include the recorded document or probate paperwork so we can update title correctly.

Who do I call about a leak or equipment on my land?

Call the 24/7 field line at +1 (702) 349-0905. Do not use email for an emergency. A supervisor will be dispatched and will call you back.

How is surface use handled?

Under the lease and any surface agreement. We notify before moving equipment, maintain roads and culverts, and coordinate water and pipeline routes with the surface owner. See the surface use section below.

Do you pay interest on late royalties?

Where required by the lease or Texas law, yes. The land team can review the specific timing on your account and correct it if we missed a deadline.

Surface use

The lease is your land first.

We maintain the roads we use, control runoff at the battery, and keep gates closed. Equipment moves are scheduled with the surface owner and the county supervisor.

  • 24-hour notice for heavy equipment, except emergencies
  • Caliche roads and culverts maintained to the lease agreement
  • Water and pipeline routes coordinated before construction
  • Gate policy and cattle guards set with the landowner
